Sepak Takraw

Sepak Takraw was designed by the royal family of malaysia 500 years ago. The name of the game is from to languages. Sepak is “kick” in Malaysia, and Takraw is “ball” in Thailand. Sepak Takraw is very similar game to the Japanese traditional game Kemari. The game is created with a volleyball style in it and international rules.

You can use your head, your back, legs, anywhere except for your arm from the shoulder to the point of your finger if you are a server and if you server you have to stand in the service circle.

When the ball comes to you instead of using your hands you have to use your legs to kick it over the net. You can’t keeping kicking the ball by your self your have to share it with your team. There are only three people in each teams.

Sepak Takraw is not played in New Zealand It is only played in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Laos.
