Manaiakalani
I Woke up knowing that it was the film festival day. I got up and got ready and went to school and made sure I got everything, once I arrived I went to the breeze and walked around slowly thinking when the bell was going to ring, as I was walking around I forgot to bring a gold coin for the film festival. I went outside the school gates and just waited until my mum came. When she arrived I opened the door and told her I forgot to bring a gold coin, so we went to the dairy and brought something and got one dollar each from the change. I came back to school and I almost forgot the gold coin in the car again, but luckily
I remembered.
I went to class and handed in the gold coin. We were told that we were going after morning tea and the juniors are going first. We had a early morning tea because it started at 11:30.
The school we partnered up with was Sommerville school. Once it was our turn we went to class and made sure we were all ready. We headed over to the bus and made our way to Sylvia Park to watch the film festival. Once we arrived we lined up in two lines and made our way into the Manaiakalani. It was really dark when we went in but luckily there were lights on the side, the other school was there before us. They were all sitting in the front so we sat at the back of them. I sat down and waited till it has started. Once everyone found a seat and was quiet it started. When it started I felt excited, each person from each school had to introduce what their film was about.
The first film that came on was our one, it was nice watching it on big screen as well. After our film it was the next school film and then our school so it was like a pattern. I thought it will take for ever but it was nice and short. I didn't have a favorite but all the films were nice. Once all of the films were played it was finished, so we stood up and made our way to the bus, and went to school.

Immersion assembly
On the first day of school, term 4 team 1 to 5 each performed a show about art and facts about art as well. My favorite one was team five how they were painting Mr Burt, Mr Jacobson, and Mrs Jarmarn upside down. When it was upside down it was hard to tell what they were painting but once they flipped it over it was amazing. But all the other performances was cool as well.

Reading
Referring to the title of the text what do you think the article is about? A football game that is named red and they train and practice every Saturdays.
Why do Saturday’s start early for Alice? Because she has a football with her team.
What does Alice enjoy being a part of, for what reason do you believe she enjoys this? She enjoys being part of the backline. I think she likes being part of the back line because she gets to have a rest and she also gets to do nothing.
What does the goal weigh? A ton.
What do you think Ashleigh is doing when she says this. Think about if the goal were to literally weigh this, would it be even possible for Ashleigh to lift it? It depends if she is able to do it. I thinks when she says it she will be confident and try her hardest to do it.
How do you think the girls are feeling prior to their game? Puffing but they are still trying their hardest.
Put yourself in their shoes, how would you feeling/ how do you feel before playing a netball or rugby game? I will feel nervous before getting ready but at the same time I will feel exsited.
“Jessica jumps high and deflects the ball” what does this mean? Change direction after hitting something.
What are the girls doing prior to their game starting? They line up and jog around the field and the ball come in different direction during the football game, so they practice dodging the ball forwards, backwards and sideways.
Refer to the images at the top of page 6. For what reason are they doing this? Because maybe that is just how they play it and those are the rules.
Frank urges the girls to not give up, what does it mean when you urge someone to do something? Force the team to play and don’t give up.
In most sports games there is always a referee, what is the role of the referee? Why is a referee so important? It is so the other team won’t blame this team for doing this and so the other team won’t do the same thing so thats why the referee is there so none of the teams will be able to cheat.
What are three very important characters a person needs to have to be part of a sports team. So everything will be easy and so each person knows what they are to post to do instead of doing anything.
Who is Cara Telea, state five facts about her. She is the team captain, She is a friend of alice, she plays football, Her team is red, she never gives up.
